Frederik Scavenius

Frederik Scavenius (1868 – 1923) (Owner of Gjorslev 1915 – 1923) Master of Laws and High Court barrister. He took over the Gjorslev and Søholm estates after his father's death in 1915.

Frederik Scavenius, along with Lars Jørgensen from Skørpinge on Stevns, were the initiators for the establishment of Selskabet Højeruplund. They had both attended a political meeting in Spjellerup in 1910 and were concerned by the gathering's lack of national feeling. They invited a number of men from the area to a meeting at Gjorslev with the aim of establishing a national society. Frederik Scavenius's father donated the small copse by Højerup Klint to the Society. An inauguration celebration was held in September 1911.
