Press Release:
The company Højeruplund is holding its traditional annual song and music evening
Tuesday 13th August at 7:30 PM
in the old church in Højeruplund.
This year's performers include three local musicians:
Lea Quortrup, soprano
Marie Louise Lind, cello,
and Troels Roland, piano
The concert's title and theme are 'Mozart's Women'. It is an intimate musical performance with the human voice and body at its centre. The music is acoustic, played on cello and piano. It is simple and Mozart's universe of beautiful sound is the core musical element. A selection of soprano arias from Mozart's operas will bring the various female characters to life.
Women who all live, feel, flirt, argue, fear, and are swept away by the emotions that flow through the stories and music. In the era, the Enlightenment, from which these portraits of women spring, lies a subtext of rebellion and longing for change, but at the same time the weight of social norms and frameworks.
Together with soprano Lea Quortrup, we are drawn into the female roles in interplay with cellist Marie Louise Lind and pianist Troels Roland.
The concert is traditionally opened by Jesper Jørgensen, who plays his Højeruplund Fanfare on the parforce horn.
